About Omni Star Plus
Omni Star Plus is a combination herbicide containing Bispyribac Sodium 10% SC and Pyrazosulfuron Ethyl 15% WDG, designed for selective post-emergence weed management in rice. The combination targets a broad spectrum of weeds, including susceptible grasses, sedges and broadleaf weeds that compete with rice for nutrients, water, light and space. Bispyribac Sodium is absorbed by actively growing weeds and inhibits acetolactate synthase (ALS/AHAS), interfering with the production of essential amino acids and stopping further weed growth. Pyrazosulfuron Ethyl also acts on ALS, providing activity against susceptible weed species, particularly sedges and broadleaf weeds. The combination is intended to provide broad-spectrum weed suppression when applied at the appropriate crop and weed growth stage. Proper water management and uniform spray coverage are important for achieving consistent weed control.
Key Benefits
Provides broad-spectrum weed management in rice.
Targets susceptible grasses, sedges and broadleaf weeds.
Combines two ALS-inhibiting herbicidal active ingredients.
Helps reduce weed competition during critical crop growth stages.
Suitable for post-emergence weed management when applied according to the registered recommendation.
Crops & Target Weeds
Crop | Target Weed | Dosage | Application |
|---|---|---|---|
Rice | Grassy weeds | As per product label | Post-emergence spray |
Rice | Sedges | As per product label | Post-emergence spray |
Rice | Broadleaf weeds | As per product label | Post-emergence spray |
Dosage & Application
Omni Star Plus should be applied as a post-emergence herbicide in rice at the crop- and weed-specific registered dose.
Dosage: 100 g per hectare (roughly 40 g/acre)
Crop: Paddy (rice) — specifically transplanted rice
Apply when weeds are young and actively growing. Ensure uniform application over the infested area and follow the recommended water-management practices for the rice production system.
How to Use
Measure the recommended quantity according to the crop and weed spectrum.
Prepare the spray mixture using clean water.
Add the required product to the spray tank while mixing continuously.
Add the remaining water and mix thoroughly.
Apply uniformly over actively growing weeds using suitable spraying equipment.
Avoid excessive overlap during application.
Follow the recommended crop and weed growth stage.
Follow all label directions regarding water management and application timing.
Compatibility / Mixing
Do not assume that Omni Star Plus can be mixed with other herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, fertilizers or adjuvants.
Use tank mixtures only when the specific combination is supported by the current product label or manufacturer recommendation. Where compatibility information is unavailable, apply Omni Star Plus separately.
Precautions & Safety
Read the product label and leaflet carefully before use.
Wear suitable protective clothing, chemical-resistant gloves, eye protection and appropriate respiratory protection during handling and spraying.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Avoid inhaling spray mist or dust during product preparation.
Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling or applying the product.
Wash hands, face and exposed skin thoroughly after handling and spraying.
Keep children, livestock and unprotected persons away from the spraying operation.
Avoid spray drift onto neighbouring crops and non-target vegetation.
Do not contaminate ponds, streams, irrigation channels or other water bodies.
Use only the recommended dose to minimize the risk of crop injury and herbicide resistance.
Rotate herbicides with different effective modes of action as part of an integrated resistance-management program.
Store in the original, tightly closed container in a cool, dry and secure place away from food, feed and water.
Dispose of empty containers according to the product label and applicable local requirements.
In case of accidental exposure, follow the first-aid instructions provided on the product label and seek medical attention when necessary.
