About Novlect
Novlect is a post-emergence herbicide containing Florpyrauxifen-benzyl 2.13% w/w + Cyhalofop-butyl 10.64% w/w EC, formulated for selective weed management in rice. It combines two different modes of action to provide control of important grass and broadleaf weeds commonly found in rice fields. Cyhalofop-butyl is absorbed primarily by the foliage of susceptible grass weeds and inhibits ACCase, an enzyme required for fatty-acid synthesis and plant growth. Florpyrauxifen-benzyl acts as a synthetic auxin and disrupts normal growth processes in susceptible weeds. The combination provides broad-spectrum post-emergence weed control and is particularly useful against difficult grass weeds such as Echinochloa species. Novlect should be applied when weeds are actively growing and at the crop and weed growth stage specified on the product label.
Key Benefits
Combines two herbicidal modes of action for broader weed management.
Provides selective post-emergence weed control in rice.
Effective against important grass weeds including Echinochloa species.
Also provides activity against susceptible broadleaf weeds.
Helps manage weeds during the active growth stage.
Crops & Target Weeds
Crop | Target Weed | Dosage | Application |
|---|---|---|---|
Rice | Echinochloa spp. | 400–500 ml/acre | Post-emergence foliar spray |
Rice | Leptochloa chinensis | 400–500 ml/acre | Post-emergence foliar spray |
Rice | Other susceptible grass and broadleaf weeds | 400–500 ml/acre | Post-emergence foliar spray |
Dosage & Application
Water Requirement: 150–200 liters of water per acre.
Novlect is used as a post-emergence herbicide in rice.
A commonly recommended application range for the formulation is approximately 400–500 ml/acre, depending on weed spectrum, weed growth stage and the registered product recommendation.
Apply when weeds are actively growing and are within the recommended growth stage. Good spray coverage of actively growing weed foliage is important for effective control.
Use the recommended quantity of water specified on the product label and avoid spraying when conditions may result in excessive drift or runoff.
How to Use
Measure the required quantity of Novlect according to the registered rice recommendation.
Add the product to a partially filled spray tank containing clean water.
Mix thoroughly while adding the remaining water.
Maintain continuous agitation to obtain a uniform spray mixture.
Apply evenly over actively growing weeds.
Ensure adequate coverage of the weed foliage.
Avoid unnecessary overlap during spraying.
Follow the registered label directions regarding crop and weed growth stage, water volume and application timing.
Compatibility / Mixing
Do not assume that Novlect can be mixed with other herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, fertilizers or adjuvants.
Use tank mixtures only when the specific combination is supported by the current Novlect label or manufacturer recommendation. Where compatibility information is unavailable, apply Novlect separately.
Precautions & Safety
Read the product label and leaflet carefully before use.
Wear suitable protective clothing, chemical-resistant gloves, eye protection and appropriate respiratory protection during handling and spraying.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Avoid inhaling spray mist.
Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling or applying the product.
Wash hands, face and exposed skin thoroughly after handling and spraying.
Keep children, livestock and unprotected persons away from the spraying operation.
Avoid spray drift onto neighbouring crops and non-target vegetation.
Do not contaminate ponds, streams, irrigation channels or other water bodies with the product or spray mixture.
Use only the recommended crop-specific dose to avoid crop injury.
Clean spraying equipment thoroughly after application.
Store in the original, tightly closed container in a cool, dry and secure place away from food, feed and water.
Dispose of empty containers according to the product label and applicable local requirements.
In case of accidental exposure, follow the first-aid instructions provided on the product label and seek medical attention when necessary.
