About Xelora
Xelora is a combination fungicide formulated with Thiophanate Methyl 450 g/L + Pyraclostrobin 50 g/L FS for seed treatment applications. It combines the systemic activity of Thiophanate Methyl with the mitochondrial respiration-inhibiting activity of Pyraclostrobin. Thiophanate Methyl is converted within susceptible fungi to compounds that interfere with cell division and fungal growth, while Pyraclostrobin belongs to the QoI group and inhibits mitochondrial respiration, restricting energy production in fungal pathogens. The combination is intended to protect treated seeds and emerging seedlings from susceptible fungal pathogens, helping reduce early-season disease pressure. The FS formulation is specifically designed for seed treatment and allows the active ingredients to be distributed over the seed surface before sowing. Xelora should be used according to the crop-specific registered recommendation and appropriate seed-treatment practices.
Key Benefits
Combines two fungicidal modes of action.
Provides systemic protection to treated seeds and emerging seedlings.
Helps protect against susceptible seed-borne and soil-borne fungal pathogens.
Supports healthier crop establishment by reducing early fungal disease pressure.
FS formulation is designed for convenient seed-treatment application.
Crops & Target Diseases
Target crops : soybean, okra, groundnut, and potato.
Target diseases : Seedling rot (Sclerotium spp.), Seedling disease (Rhizoctonia spp.), and Black Scurf (Rhizoctonia spp.)
Dosage & Application
Xelora (BASF) — Thiophanate Methyl 450 g/L + Pyraclostrobin 50 g/L, FS formulation — is a systemic fungicide made specifically for seed treatment.
Crop-wise seed treatment dosage:
Crop | Target disease | Dosage |
|---|---|---|
Soybean | Seedling rot (Sclerotium spp.) | 2–2.5 ml/kg seed |
Groundnut | Stem rot (Sclerotium spp.) | 2–2.5 ml/kg seed |
Okra | Seedling disease (Rhizoctonia spp.) | 3 ml/kg seed |
Potato | Black scurf (Rhizoctonia spp.) | 20 ml per 100 kg seed |
How to Use
Measure the required quantity of Xelora according to the crop and seed quantity.
Use clean seed with good physical quality.
Apply the recommended quantity uniformly over the seed.
Mix thoroughly using suitable seed-treatment equipment.
Ensure that all seeds receive adequate and uniform coating.
Allow treated seed to dry as directed on the product label.
Sow treated seed according to the normal crop planting schedule.
Follow the registered label directions for dose and treatment method.
Compatibility / Mixing
Do not assume that Xelora can be mixed with other fungicides, insecticides, biological seed treatments, fertilizers or micronutrients.
Use seed-treatment combinations only when the specific combination is supported by the current Xelora label or manufacturer recommendation. Where compatibility information is unavailable, use Xelora separately.
Precautions & Safety
Read the product label and leaflet carefully before use.
Wear suitable protective clothing, chemical-resistant gloves, eye protection and appropriate respiratory protection during seed treatment.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Avoid inhaling product vapour, mist or dust generated during seed treatment.
Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling treated seed or the product.
Wash hands, face and exposed skin thoroughly after handling.
Keep children, livestock and unprotected persons away from treated seed.
Do not use treated seed for human or animal consumption.
Do not leave treated seed exposed where it can be accessed by birds or animals.
Avoid contamination of ponds, streams, irrigation channels and other water bodies.
Store the product in its original, tightly closed container in a cool, dry and secure place away from food, feed and water.
Clearly identify treated seed and keep it separate from untreated seed.
Dispose of empty containers and leftover treated material according to the product label and applicable local requirements.
In case of accidental exposure, follow the first-aid instructions provided on the product label and seek medical attention when necessary.
